Instrument Petting Zoos give community members the opportunity to get up close and personal with the instruments of the orchestra. Whether it’s trying out a violin or sampling something larger like a trombone, budding instrumentalists can try their hands at something new in a zero-pressure environment that empowers them to explore the full breadth of their creativity.
Found at farmers markets, libraries, festivals, and other events throughout the community, as well as many local schools and early learning centers, our Instrument Petting Zoos are guided by trained staff and volunteers who provide participants with an overview of the instruments and the basics for getting started. We’re excited to re-launch this program after a pandemic-induced hiatus and respond to popular demand in the community!
If you would like to schedule an Instrument Petting Zoo visit to your community event, our request form for the 24-25 season will go live on Monday, August 5, 2024.
