Instrument Petting Zoos give kids the opportunity to get up close and personal with the instruments of the orchestra. Whether it’s trying out a violin or sampling something larger like a cello, budding little instrumentalists can try their hands at something new in a zero-pressure environment that empowers them to explore the full breadth of their creativity.

Found at farmers markets, pop-up festivals, and other events throughout the community, our Instrument Petting Zoos are guided by trained staff and volunteers who provide kids with an overview of the instruments and the basics for getting started. We’re excited to re-launch this program after a pandemic-induced hiatus and respond to popular demand in the community!
