Santa is always glad to join the A2SO for our annual sing-along. He loves learning Christmas carols from around the world, snacking on cookies and milk in the middle of the night, and his January vacations at a new beach every year (January 2016: Bali, without the elves!) When pushed, he will admit that Rudolph is his favorite, but Prancer and Vixen are mighty close! He can be reached by letter (hand-written in blue or black ink, or colorful markers, please) at Santa Claus, The Workshop, North Pole. (No postage necessary.)
Charley Sullivan has been carrying a tune all his life. Growing up in Indonesia, the Philippines and Sierra Leone, he was always learning and singing both local songs and whatever his older siblings would play on the record player, (remember those??). Back in the United States for middle and high school, he began singing formally, including at St. Albans School and the National Cathedral in Washington, DC, where he also studied organ with Richard Roecklein. At Princeton University, he sang chorally for William Trego and studied choral conducting as a University Scholar at Westminister Choir College; he also joined the Princeton Tigertones and performed in the Princeton Triangle Show alongside Brooke Shields. Following college, he taught, conducted choirs and played the organ at Groton School in Massachussets and South Kent School in Connecticut.
In Michigan, Charley served as A2SO’s Education Coordinator from 1997-2000, and has performed with Measure for Measure and as a vocal soloist for churches and synagogues across Southeast Michigan. He regularly abused his vocal chords running practices on Argo Pond as the Associate Head Coach for the U-M Men’s Rowing Team. Currently Charley is a Fulbright Scholar studying in Indonesia pursuing his Doctorate Degree.
