Privacy Policy

At the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, we respect your right to privacy and we understand that users of the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra web site need to be in control of their personal information. “Personal information” includes, but is not limited to, name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and credit card information.

For each visitor to our web page, our web server automatically recognizes only the consumer’s domain name (where possible), but not the e-mail address.

Our web site may collect only the domain name, the e-mail addresses of those who communicate with us via e-mail, aggregate information on what pages consumers access or visit including, but not limited to, IP address, referring domain, browser type, access date and time. Additional information volunteered by the consumer, such as survey information and/or site registrations may also be collected.

The information we collect is used to:

  • Improve the content of our web pages;
  • Customize the content and/or layout of our page for each individual visitor; and
  • Notify consumers about updates to our web site.
  • The information automatically collected by our web server is not shared with other organizations for commercial purposes.

This website uses Google Analytics to help analyze how users use the site. The tool uses “cookies,” which are text files placed on your computer, to collect standard internet log information and visitor behavior information in an anonymous form. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including IP address) is transmitted to Google. This information is then used to evaluate visitors’ use of the web site and to compile statistical reports on web site activity for the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra.

We will never (and will not allow any third party to) use the statistical analytics tool to track or to collect any personal information of visitors to our site. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. Neither we nor Google will link, or seek to link, an IP address with the identity of a computer user. We will not associate any data gathered from this site with any personal information from any source, unless you explicitly submit that information via a fill-in form on our web site.

When entering the ticket sales portion of our web site that is powered by Theatre Manager, the following applies:

  • Cookies from the online sales are encrypted using 3DES encryption, along with a date and time, and contain only sufficient information to assist the ticket buying process;
  • The cookies expire in 24 hours and are removed from the web browser at that time;
  • We will, however, retain your name, postal address, phone and e-mail address if you create an account in this portion of the web site, whether or not you complete a transaction.

Typically, e-mail addresses provided to our web site are only used for:

  • Contacting a customer about an order or performance change or cancellation;
  • Providing a customer with requested information; or
  • Subscription to our e-mail notices.

The A2SO will never sell or distribute e-mail address information.

If you supply us with your postal address, you may receive periodic mailings from us with information on upcoming events. If you do not wish to receive such mailings, please let us know by calling (734) 994-4801. We will be sure your name is removed from the mailing list.

From time to time, we make our customer postal addresses available to other local reputable arts organizations we think you might find interesting. If you do not want us to share your mailing address with other organizations, please let us know by calling (734) 994-4801.

The Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra will protect any personal financial information that you share with us. If you make a purchase online, we will use your credit card number only to process your payment and will not use it for marketing purposes. For reasons of security, credit card information is not stored on our web server. We will retain order information for our records, but this information is never shared with third parties.

We have appropriate security measures in place in our physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information that we have collected from you at our site. All sensitive information is transferred online using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) connections.

Upon request we will provide customers with access to financial information (e.g., credit card account information) that we maintain about them, transaction information (e.g., dates on which customers made purchases, amounts and types of purchases) that we maintain about them, and contact information (e.g., name, address, phone number) that we maintain about them.

From time to time, we may use customer information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. If our information practices change at some time in the future, we will post the policy changes to our web site to notify you of these changes and provide you with the ability to opt out of these new uses. In this event, customers may prevent their information from being used for purposes other than those for which it was originally collected by calling us at (734) 994-4801. If you are concerned about how your information is used; you should check this privacy policy statement periodically.

Ticketing Policy

Each person regardless of age must have a valid ticket to attend a performance. Once inside the venue, patrons may be asked to display a valid ticket at the request of venue staff to ensure correct seating. Failure to do so may result in expulsion from the venue.

Refunds:

All sales are final. The Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra does not offer refunds on single tickets, subscription tickets, or gift certificates. 

Exchanges: 

  1. Tickets may be exchanged by calling the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra Box Office at (734) 994-4801
  2. Requests for ticket exchanges will be accepted up to 6 hours prior to the performance.
  3. The difference in ticket price will be charged when upgrading your tickets to a more expensive night or seat.

Lost Tickets:

In the event that you have lost your tickets, please visit the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra Will Call table or call (734) 994-4801 before your performance date.

Order Fees:

Our Handling Fee is a nominal charge to help cover the cost of credit card processing and postage.

Mailing Fees:

Refer to Mailing Fee for the policy description. Mailing Fee is included in the Handling Fee for single tickets.

Photography Policy

Contractual regulations with the musicians of the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra prohibit photographs taken by any people or organizations other than the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra.

NOTICE OF PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHY

The Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra (A2SO) may capture photographs and videos during its events, programs, or activities for promotional and documentation purposes. By participating in or attending these events, you agree that the A2SO may use your image, likeness, and voice in photographs and videos for promotional materials, social media, publications, and other marketing purposes.

Please be aware that these photographs and videos may be used in various media outlets and may be accessible to the public. If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please inform the event organizers or photographers/videographers on-site.

By participating, you release the A2SO, its employees, and any third parties involved in the creation or publication of promotional materials from any liability in connection with the use of your image, likeness, or voice. If you have any concerns or questions regarding the use of photographs and videos, please contact the A2SO before participating in the event.
