August 22, 2022, Ann Arbor, MI (1 min. read) — The Missouri Symphony (MOSY) has announced the appointment of Wilbur Lin as its next Music Director, the third in MOSY’s half-century of history.

Lin joins the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra on November 19, 2022, to kick off our Pops concert season at the Michigan Theater. On the program is a Symphony first: a celebration of the music of the Tokyo-based animation company, Studio Ghibli.

As Music Director of MOSY, Lin builds on the legacy of Kirk Trevor who recently retired, and the Symphony’s founder Hugo Vianello who led the organization from 1970 to 1988. Following his time at the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra where he served as Assistant Conductor, Lin will also become conductor of the Northern Illinois University Philharmonic and Opera Theatre in the fall of 2022.
